Mum charged with child neglect

The woman, aged 28, who cannot be named for legal reasons, yesterday pleaded not guilty to neglecting the children, all aged under ten, by committing the offences on December 2. She is also accused of using heaters without guards and unusable bedding with sharp and dangeorous edges being exposed, as well as allowing the youngest child to run around the house unclothed and unwashed. Trial at Dumfries Sheriff Court has been set for June.
