Mobility scooter rider injured in accident

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to an accident which happened at the pedestrian crossing in St Michael Street, Dumfries.

A mobility scooter being driven by a 60-year-old woman from Dumfries was involved in a collision with a red-coloured Honda Civic car being driven by a 61- year-old Dumfries woman. 

As a result the driver of the mobility scooter was knocked from it and received minor injuries and the scooter was damaged.

The driver of the Honda was not injured.

Officers ask that anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the incident, which happened around 7.30 pm on Thursday, call Police Scotland at Dumfries on 101.
