Missing man appeal

POLICE are appealing for help to trace a missing man whose car was found on Tuesday in the Mull of Galloway car park.

Concern is growing for the whereabouts of Ernestas Dagys, 42, from Middlesbrough.

Officers were made aware of concern for him at about 12 pm on Tuesday following a report his car had been discovered.

Searches are being carried out in the area with specialist resources, including assistance from the RNLI and HM Coastguard.

Ernestas is described as white, around five foot eight tall, of slim build with short brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a black jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Inspector Stephen Judge yesterday said: “I’m appealing for any information which may help us trace Ernestas.

“Following enquiries, we believe he travelled to the Mull of Galloway area on Sunday February 25.

“If you’ve been in the area since Sunday, please think back. Did you see someone matching his description? Please get in touch with any information you have.

“Ernestas, if you see this appeal, please make contact with police so we can ensure you’re safe and well.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1241 of 27 February.
