Lorries targeted again

THIEVES have targeted more lorries parked up at Johnstonebridge.

A high value theft took place from a trailer parked at Annandale Water Services between 10 pm last Thursday and 6 am the next morning.

The same night, between midnight and 2.30 am, the curtains were slashed on a number of trailers parked at Lockerbie Lorry Park, near Johnstonebridge.

Police are investigating both incidents and Detective Sergeant Kelly Douglas said: “We are appealing to members of the public who were in these areas at the time, if they saw any persons or vehicles acting suspiciously or have any dashcam footage which may assist with our enquiries, to get in touch.

“We would also like to appeal to members of the public, particularly lorry drivers, to report any suspicious behaviour of persons or vehicles to police as soon as possible so that we can take the appropriate action.

“Please phone Police Scotland on 101 and quote either incident number 0498 or 0312 of 26 August 2022.”

It comes just a few weeks after £230,000 of trainers were taken from a HGV parked near Lockerbie.

It was ransacked overnight August 16-17 and 22 pallets full of sport shoes were removed. Police continue to probe the incident.
