LOCKERBIE Gala and Riding of the Marches is the organisation that contributes the most to Lockerbie.

That was the result of a survey carried out in the town by consultant Nick Wright, who is helping draw up an action plan for the community.
He polled townsfolk on which groups make the most positive contributions locally and the gala came out tops, followed by the community council and Junction 17.
Also mentioned were Tesco, the ice rink, Rotary, Scouts, Mids, Eskrigg, Rockerbie and various pubs and employers.
Participants were also asked what they like most about Lockerbie and the gala and RoM again came out highly.
Other answers included cafes, Eskrigg, the community, the railway and travel, walks, the people, the friendlieness, High Street improvements, parks, sports, clubs and pubs.
