Lockerbie faces power cuts

POWER cuts will sweep through parts of Lockerbie when works begin to upgrade overhead lines and poles on Monday.

The works, which will be carried out by Scottish Power, are set to take just over two weeks. During that time, power outages will last from 9 am to 4.30 pm.

The first street to be affected is Sydney Place, which will lose power on Monday. Sydney Place will also lose power on Tuesday next week, as will Matthews Loaning.

On Wednesday, Park Place will be powerless as will Bridge Street next Thursday. One Monday July 13 Rosebank Crescent will lose power and the following day Rosebank Crescent will again be powerless as will Park Place.

Next up on Wednesday July 15 will be Carlisle Road, where cuts will last two days. Lastly, Victoria Park and Ashgrove Terrace will be affected on Monday July 20.
