‘Lockerbie’ drama to be filmed elsewhere

CAMERAS are rolling in different parts of Scotland as filming gets underway on a new drama based on the Lockerbie disaster.

Believed to be titled ‘Flight 103’, it will star Colin Firth as the real-life Dr Jim Swire, whose daughter Flora died in the 1988 disaster.

As we revealed last month, the Sky series is based on the book ‘The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father’s Search for Justice’ by Jim Swire and Peter Biddulph.

Oscar winner Firth has been spotted in character in Linlithgow, while airline props have been seen in Glasgow.

However, the production team have told the Annandale Herald that there will be no filming in Dumfriesshire.

A spokesperson said: “We do not intend to and will not film in Lockerbie out of respect, but the production has been engaging with Creative Scotland and local authorities in the area to keep them updated on the production.”

There is no known release date yet for the show.
