Livestock worrying warning
REPORTS of livestock worrying continue to reach Stewartry Community Policing Team. Cops were recently made aware of incidents in the Brighouse Bay/ Carrick areas of Kirkcudbrightshire. A force spokesperson said: "Please ensure when out and about with your dog that you have them on the lead where there is a chance of coming across livestock or wildlife. Even the most well-behaved dogs can become excited or curious, leading to unintended harm. Especially at this time of the year with young calves, lambs and ground nesting birds in abundance." And they reminded pet owners that any dog found attacking, biting, chasing or “playing” with livestock can lead to fines of up to £40,000 or 12 months imprisonment. Anyone with concerns regarding livestock should call 101. \
