Earlier today Dumfries and Galloway Council received reports that there was an issue with the road after a small landslide occurred on the A708, north bound, above Moffat, at a site approximately a mile south of the Dumfries and Galloway and Scottish Borders boundary.
Temporary traffic management was organised, including temporary traffic lights to make the road safe.
And engineers have been on site assessing what repairs need to be carried out.
