A BOXING club in Annan has been extremely busy over the last few weeks with some knockout results.

Solway Spartans have been attending events on both sides of the border. Youngster Tayler Pagan represented the club at a Bishop Auckland show at the start of the month and gave an impressive account of himself, but his opponent Joe Spencerly was too much of a match for him in what was Tayler’s first bout. A victory did follow on Friday November 8, however, as Jack Hobbins clinched his second win in a matter of weeks as he boxed well at the Carlisle Villa show held in the Crown and Mitre hotel. Meanwhile, it is all go for head coach Terry Bruton and his fighters as Danny Monk and Jack Hobbins will be participating this evening in Stenhousemuir as a Scotland select face their English counterparts, while Macaulay Howes will be competing next weekend at a show in Barrow. The club is going from strength to strength and will be launching a ladies only class in January.
