A WEBSITE has been launched to help match new farming entrants and developing businesses with well-established farmers and crofters who may be looking to step back.

The Scottish Land Matching Service launched last year and now people can register their interest online, whether seeking or offering an opportunity.

The new site also includes listings of opportunities that are already registered. In addition, regular blogs will also appear to keep people up to date with anything that might have an impact on opportunities.

SLMS manager Ian Davidson said: “I am really pleased that we now have the website live. We have aimed to keep it simple to follow and use. “The site will allow all those with an interest to keep up to date – whether offering or seeking opportunities.”

The Scottish Land Matching Service is a consortium approach with support from the following organisations: Scottish Government; NFU Scotland; Scottish Land and Estates; Scottish Land Commission; Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs; Scottish Tenant Farmers Association; Royal Scottish Agriculture Benevolent Institution; Farm Advisory Service (SAC / Ricardo); Forestry and Land Scotland.
