Homes bid will be subject of meeting

A PLANNING application for 74 new homes in Moffat will be the subject of a virtual meeting next month.

Loreburn Housing Association has lodged proposals for the major development on the land between Moffat Hospital and Alton Road.

The scheme contains a mix of houses and flats, as well as a reception/communal building, parking, landscaping, open space and roads.

An architect’s drawing for the proposals show a large site enclosed by trees for biodiversity and to soften the views.

A block of general needs affordable housing makes up a large part of the development, and is situated near to the areas of open space, which are a potential location for ball games.

There are also smaller areas of amenity and extra-care housing, surrounding a centre building and bordered by a small orchard and further landscaping.

Full details of the plans are available on the Dumfries and Galloway website by visiting https://eaccess.dumgal.gov.uk/online-applications/ and using the reference 21/2374/FUL.

The meeting will take place online on Tuesday January 18, starting at 7 pm.

Anyone wishing to attend is asked to contact Moffat CC secretary – by emailing [email protected] – to receive a link closer to the date.
