ENTRIES are now open for the livestock classes and competitions at this year’s Royal Highland Show.

They are being taken in the following sections:

Beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, light and heavy horses, farriery, shearing and fleece.

The show will also host the Scottish Honey Championship, the Scottish Dairy Products Championship, and the Scottish Handcraft Championship

Closing dates vary from April 15 to May 12.

Meanwhile, changes for this year include new classes in certain sheep breeds, and a new donkey young handler class.

In a bid to showcase and expand the scope of competitions for the public, additional livestock and competition demonstrations for event visitors will take place on the Sunday.

The show’s competitions manager Catriona Brown said: “Each year, we absolutely love working with competitors to finalise their entries and make sure they have everything they need to make their show experience the best it can be.”

Entries must be submitted through the online portal at www.royalhighlandshow.org and full details can also be found on the website.

For assistance with competition entries, contact the competitions team on [email protected] or call 0131 335 6164.
