Dumfries and Galloway Council imposed an emergency order on the road on March 7 2019 due to structural failures and damage.
However, 12 months on it is still shut with no reopening date in sight and residents say the B722 diversion route is now being destroyed.
A petition is circulating locally calling for action and a public meeting is also being planned.
Last month Dumfries and Galloway Council confirmed they are continuing to speak with Scottish Power about repairs to the road, who are in turn speaking with their sub contractor.
Scottish Power were contacted for a comment.
