GREYHOUNDS: Trainer Dexter's winning double

THERE was a winning double at the weekend for Dexter Clark, a prolific trainer on the Gretna greyhound track.

Clark’s 2/1 shot Rosemary, a three-year-old bitch, cruised home comfortably on good going to win by two lengths in the 8.15 sprint trip.

Next home was Relay, a four-year-old dog owned and trained by Kelvin Brown of Wishaw.

Clark’s next Halcrow Stadium triumph came in the 9.15 middle distance race when 6/4 fancy Frenshy, a four-year-old, powered home with a 2.5 lengths lead.

Strongest challenge came from Tony Hopper’s two-year-old Workington greyhound Flaming Bird.

There was a cross-border battle in the other 470 metres race when Maurice Lawman’s three-year-old Workington dog Black Ball finished two lengths in front of Cheap Dream, a three-year-old from the Hill kennels at Hawick.
