GREYHOUNDS: Lochar Jet flies to late victory

SCOTS dog Lochar Jet had the edge in a closely run sprint battle at Halcrow Greyhound Stadium, Gretna on Friday night.

The two-year-old dog, owned and trained by Ian Little of Dumfries, took the lead at the last bend to secure victory by a head in a photo-finish.

Runner-up was a strongly challenging Wiggy’s Sky from Kath Lister’s Aspatria kennels.

There was an impressive Cumbrian victory over the middle distance in the final race of the evening.

Davy Studholm’s Abbeytown entry Star powered through the field to win at 2/1 by three lengths.

The three-year-old dog was followed home by Outlaw, a two-year-old dog owned and trained by Glen Rafferty of Workington.
