GREYHOUNDS: Dottie delights at Gretna

THERE was a complete reversal in two sprint races on good going at Gretna greyhound racing at the weekend.

SUMMERTIME SPECIAL . . . regular Gretna trainer Dexter Clark, who has had a string of recent successes at Halcrow Stadium, was presented with a trophy by a ‘Hen Party’ on a night-out at ‘the dogs’                                                        PICTURE: CRAIG NORMAN

In the fifth race prolific Halcrow Stadium trainer Dexter Clark added to his super summer tally when his bitch Dottie crossed the line to win by an impressive 4.5 lengths lead.

She was followed home by runner-up Snowie Dream, owned and trained at Hawick by Frannie Hill.

The compete turnaround came in the seventh race when Frannie Hill enjoyed top spot with his greyhound Canny Make It  when it romped home in front of Dexter Clark’s runner Tears.

However, a victory for Joe Pep in the 9pm trip meant the Clark kennels enjoyed a winning double with the 7/4 shot coming in ahead of Bally Boom, a 5/2 bet from Lewthwaite of Workington.

Finally, racing fans can check on recent form by going online to the DnG24 Gretna racing archive at https://www.dng24.co.uk/?s=greyhounds
