Fundraiser in memory of Phyllis

PREPARATIONS are underway in Annan as an MND fundraising event at The Anglers is set to honour the life and memory of local resident Phyllis Shaw.

A much-loved wife, mum and nana, Phyllis’ memory is still inspiring members of her family and the local community today.

Phyllis’ granddaughter Shannon Walker said she hopes the event will be an opportunity to promote further awareness of the disease, which im- pacts 200 people newly diagnosed in Scotland each year.

The MND fundraiser – which will include a buffet and raffle – will take place at The Anglers in Annan on Au- gust 8 has been organised by Phyl- lis’ daughter, Sharon Watson.

All proceeds will be given to the charity, which helps people with lived experience of MND and their families, as well as honouring Phyllis’ memory.

Donation boxes have already been set up at The Pantry, and the neigh- bouring Annan Convenience Store.
