FISHING has returned to the River Cree following the opening of the season on Monday. The ceremony, organised by the River Cree Hatchery and Habitat Trust, was held at the Linloskin Pool, with the aim of bringing together the river community. After a speech from Jamie Hyslop, those gathered were led to the river by piper Stephen Liddle, where chairman of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund Robert Sloss gave a speech then blessed the Cree by pouring a ceremonial quaich of Jura whisky into the river.
