SHEEP dog trials returned to the Royal Highland Show (RHS) after a more than 35-year gap - with a Dumfriesshire woman at the helm.

Current world, international and Scottish national champions gathered to demonstrate their skills at the show, ahead of Scotland hosting the Sheep Dog World Trials in 2026.

Overseeing it will be Fiona McMillian from Moniaive, above back, who is the current, and first female, president of the International Sheep Dog Society. She was instrumental in bringing sheep dog trialling display back to RHS, an event which she also compered.

Assisting her was Liz Ramsay, from Knockreoch Farm near Dalry, who is the World Trials project manager.
