Fan joy as Love Island star pops home

THEY struck up a steamy relationship in front of the cameras in the Hidden Hills villa on hit TV show Love Island.

And now fan-favourite Camilla Thurlow has brought Jamie Jewitt to her hometown of Dumfries to meet friends and family after seven weeks together in Mallorca.

The couple first hit things off four weeks into the programme when Calvin Klein model Jamie entered the villa alongside runner Theo Campbell – and the love birds have been inseparable ever since.

Camilla’s nearest and dearest were at Dumfries Station on Wednesday night to greet them – alongside eagle-eyed fans of the show who were sent into a frenzy after Camilla shared a photo of herself cuddled up with the Essex lad on a train with the caption: ‘Fingers crossed we don’t miss our stop!’

One lucky fan who managed to meet the pair was Bethany Hanley, 18, who realised the pair were travelling to Dumfries after trawling through social media, and a chance text exchange with her nan.

She said: “I found out Camilla and Jamie were coming to Dumfries because my nan was sitting a few rows behind them on the train. She had no idea who they were and was wondering why people were asking for photos with them – she was oblivious!

“Then I saw tweets about them being on a train and put two and two together. I then offered to pick my nan up from the station in the hope of seeing them.

“I was really excited to meet them. Camilla had been my favourite from the start and I had voted for them to win. It was funny meeting them in person after watching them on the show, but they were just as lovely in real life as they were on television!”
