Ebike route proposed

A CYCLE route for ebikers could be created in the region.

South of Scotland Enterprise are leading a feasibility study into an an on road cycle route from Portpatrick to Eyemouth for Ebike visitors.

The proposed coast to coast route would pass through 11 towns and villages along the way, serving as stop-off points for cyclists. West to east the towns along the way are Portpatrick, Stranraer, Wigtown, Newton Stewart, Kirkcudbright, Dumfries, Langholm, Hawick, Galashiels, Kelso, Coldstream before reaching Eyemouth.

They are now seeking views on the project from people in this region.

It follows on from research already done on current and future provision for Ebike hire/charging/ parking and support and infrastructure for Ebike tourism and the demand that exists.
