MOFFATIONIANS are set to go quackers this weekend at the annual Fun Day and Duck Race.

Every Bank Holiday Sunday in May residents descend on Station Park to take part in an afternoon of fun events.

Organisers Moffat Promotions Group are expecting a strong turnout for the event, which includes free family orienteering taster sessions, lots of fun on the water, food to go, children’s rides and stalls.

The day kicks off from 12 pm withavisit from Scone of Destiny, alight hearted half hour show combining mock ritual and enormous cakes.

Moffat Promotions Group’s Sarah Ottewell said: “The day’s crowning glory as always is the world famous duck race at 3.30 pm.

“People can buy lots of ducks for their bucks, from several outlets in the town in advance, and on the day itself in Station Park.” “Could your duck beat the rest and earn you a small fortune?”

All 600 ducks will make their way from the Little Annan Water into Station Park and the first three to get there will win their sponsors cash prizes
