Drivers needed urgently

Section:   | Tags:

AN urgent plea has gone out for volunteer drivers to bring food to Dumfries and Galloway’s vulnerable residents.

Able and willing volunteers across the region are sought to help the local authority deliver food, following new restrictions put in place.

If you have a car and are willing to drive to help those isolated at home, please fill out the volunteer form at Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway’s website, thirdsectordumgal.org.uk.

In the box asking for an opportunity you are interested in, please put ‘volunteer food driver’.

A mileage allowance will be provided and you will be allowed to travel, despite the Government’s new restrictions. All volunteers will be paired up and will not come into direct contact with anyone they are delivering to or delivering with, unless immediate family members.

A Third Sector spokesman said: After completing your form, you will be contacted with more detail. Thank you for helping our most vulnerable across the region.”
