Do you know Tyro?

A DUMFRIESSHIRE dog has been discovered lying in a field in the east end of Glasgow.

The male Staffordshire bull terrier cross was found in the rain at the weekend by a member of the public.

The dog, called Tyro, is now being cared for in the Scottish SPCA’s Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Dunbartonshire.

Centre manager Judy Button said: “The brindle and white staffie cross came to us as a stray on November 20, and we are appealing to anyone who might know him or recognise him.

“He is microchipped to the Dumfries area, but unfortunately the phone number is incorrect. According to the microchip, his name is Tyro.”

Tyro is believed to be around 11 years old and is described as friendly, but quite frail.

The centre is only able to hold stray dogs for seven days while they try to trace the owner. After that, the animal is made available for rehoming.

If you recognise Tyro, please call the Scottish SCPA on 03000 999 999.
