The body of the 32-year-old was found at Ingleston Crescent on Saturday.
A post mortem examination has taken place and the Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
A police spokesman at Dumfries said: “Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death, which is being described as unexplained, are continuing, however at this point officers do not consider the circumstances to be suspicious.”
Dead man named
A MAN found dead in his home at New Abbey at the weekend has been named by police as Steven Cassidy.
