PUBLIC help is being called for to get to the bottom of a 'crime spree' in Kirkcudbright.

PUBLIC help is being called for to get to the bottom of a ‘crime spree’ in Kirkcudbright.

The police say the town is being targeted after a second housebreaking was reported over the weekend.

A property in Fergus Road was broken into sometime between Friday and Tuesday and over £500 in cash was stolen.

Constable John Brown said “Again the occupants in this housebreaking were away from home when it was broken into.  Anyone who who saw or heard anything suspicious over the weekend, anywhere in the town, is asked to give us a call on 101.

“Anyone who sees anything suspicious, or just a bit out of the norm should call us at the time.  Clearly the area appears to be getting targeted just now and we need the help of the community to get to the bottom of this crime spree.”
