Couples make the marriage leap

SPECIAL dates on the calendar always attract a flurry of weddings at Gretna Green and yesterday was no different.

Four couples chose the border love town to tie the knot on leap day.

There was one religious ceremony and three civil marriages held across the Gretna district.

The newlyweds will now have to wait four years for the next leap year and their first official anniversary!

Meanwhile, February 29 also proved a popular date across Dumfries and Galloway as a whole, with another 27 weddings taking place regionwide.
