Clothing store in charity donation

AN outdoor retailer in the region has donated over £200 worth of clothes to a local housing charity.

Mountain Warehouse, which is based at Gretna Gateway Outlet Village, has presented the unsellable stock, including jackets and trousers for ladies, men and children, to Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership.

Store manager Tracy Gibson, pictured, said: “Here at Mountain Warehouse, it is extremely important to us to support organisations within the area.
“This isn’t clothing that is unwearable, but items with imperfections that make them unsellable in store, such as faulty zips, pen marks, missing buttons and small tears.
“We contacted the council to see if the stock would be any use to them and they pointed us in the direction of Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership.”
She added: “This is the first time we have donated to a local charity in this way.
“We are delighted that contributing to the association’s clothing needs is going to become a regular thing and we already have a couple of boxes ready to donate for a second time.”
