Chance to get involved with Easter celebrations

A GROUP of churches in Annan are preparing to celebrate Easter online as coronavirus restrictions prevent traditional rituals from going ahead for the second year running.

Annan Churches Together’s Easter holiday club have planned three virtual events so that worships can take place safely.

“Fill up with Faith”, a live streamed church service, will kick-off the festivities on Easter Saturday, April 3 and is being broadcast on the Annan St Andrews Church YouTube Channel from 10 am.

An egg decorating competition is also being run by the club and Steadfast Ministries. Local children are urged to get creative and send in photos of their painted eggs to [email protected] by Saturday, March 27.

Furthermore, all members of the community are invited to join a virtual Easter bonnet parade — with a special request for local nursing homes to get involved. Hats or headgear of your choice should be spruced up with Easter themed decorations, photographed and sent to to the club by be the same date mentioned previously.

Find out more and keep up to date with plans for the Easter holiday club by visiting the Annan Old Parish and Dornock Parish Facebook page.
