Cars vandalised in border town

POLICE officers in Gretna are investigating a spate of vandalism which has left eight cars damaged.

The vehicles, which included three BMWs, a Mercedes, a Fiat, a Volkswagen, a Peugeot and a Vauxhall, all received damage to their paintwork while they were parked in Central Avenue at various times of the day on Friday.
Constable Calum Benson of Gretna Police said: “This is an absolute act of wanton vandalism for the sake of it. The cars in question were all parked along Central Avenue and whoever is responsible has caused damage which will run into thousands of pounds.
“I would encourage anyone who has any information which might help us identify those responsible to get in touch with us at Gretna on 101.”
