Calvin Harris recalls Annan job

DURING a radio phone-in last week, global DJ Calvin Harris reflected on his days working in an Annan fish factory.

The Dumfries-born superstar DJ and ten-time chart-topper worked at the town’s former Pinney’s plant for a year aged 17, prior to his stardom.

Taking questions from BBC Radio 1 listeners, Harris got talking to Shannon Morrin, who revealed she was from Annan.

“I worked in Annan for a year in a fish factory,” he excitedly replied.

The music maestro, who is internationally renowned for his many hits, said he “cooked prawns and sent them to the other side” and also helped put-together ready meals.

He added it “turned me into a man” and was “absolute banter every day”.
