Call to 'missed' over 40s

OVER 40s who have not yet had their first Covid-19 vaccination are being urged to take up the opportunity.

A phone line has been established to fast track those in the age bracket and extra clinics have been created to help ensure people are able to receive their vaccinations at a location close to them.

Everyone aged under 40 should continue to wait for their invitation and respond to that as directed – with encouragement to take up the chance when offered.

In addition, scheduled second doses for people aged over 50 are expected to be complete by the end of next week.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway immunisation co-ordinator Nigel Calvert said: “As we now head towards the youngest groups, there is absolutely no room for complacency.”
