British record for Marie
A BRITISH running record has been quietly broken by an Annan runner.
While competing in Dumfries Running Club’s One Hour Track Race last month, Marie Marshall covered an incredible 14,315 metres in one hour.
Her performance surpassed the previous British Masters best effort.
Her teammates at Annan and District Athletics Club have congratulated her and said: “What other records she has her eyes on, we at ADAC are all excited to see and have no doubt she’ll be digging very deep to achieve them.”
Also last month, Marie took part in the Kaizen Mountain Hybrid Race near Scafell in the Lake District, coming in first female overall.
The race combined mountain running with strength-based challenges including a finisher of 50 x 30kg sandbag shoulder carries.
