M74 fuel spillage

HUNDREDS of litres of diesel were spilled on the A74 (M) near Lockerbie after a lorry was involved in collision on Monday afternoon.

It happened at about 12.47 pm on the northbound carriageway near junction 17.

Police say a lorry collided with an object on the carriageway and as a result, its diesel tank ruptured.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and there were traffic restrictions and congestion.
