It happened at the KFC in Glasgow Road at about 1.15 am.
The alarm in the premises was activated around that time and on arrival police officers found that the premises had been entered and damage. However, they say, at this stage, nothing appears to have been stolen.
Constable Luke Leslie said: “We want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area around this time if they can help us identify those responsible for this break-in.”
