DIGGING FOR TREASURE . . . the finder of the priceless Galloway Hoard, Derek McLennan, was history hunting in the region again this week - on the anniversary of his big discovery. Derek, right, came upon the Viking haul near Dumfries in September last year and yesterday was hoping for similar luck at Ecclefechan. He has been volunteering at the Burnswark Project dig in Ecclefechan along with archaeologist Andrew Nicholson, of Dumfries, right.
