Bay clean will wrap up 2022

D&G ECO Warriors are calling for volunteers to help them with their last and biggest clean of the year.

The group plan to tackle the rubbish at Mullock Bay near Kirkcudbright on Sunday November 20, and intend to clear as much rubbish off this bay as they can during the winter when the reeds have died down.

Organiser Laura Howieson said: “This bay has so much plastic that has been washed up that we need as many people to come along and help us at this clean and move as much of it as possible.

“This clean is one of Eco’s biggest. Barlocco and Mullock are the two worst bays we have cleaned in Dumfries and Galloway so any help welcomed. Please come and have a great day helping a worthwhile cause, great company and even see the grey seals in the bay if you’re lucky. ”

Anyone is welcome to join the clean and D&G Eco Warriors are also hoping that those with access to quad bikes and trailers will come along to help remove larger objects. The group will meet at Kirkcudbright tennis courts at 10.15 am on November 20 and leave at 10.30 am in a convey to Mullock Bay.
