RESIDENTS in and around Annan have been reconnecting with their inner child this week amidst the success of the new Barbie movie.
Starring Margot Robbie as the titular lead and Ryan Gosling as main man Ken, the highly anticipated film opened last weekend.
And women, children and men have been flocking to Annan’s Lonsdale Cinema to see it, with a large majority of viewers wearing their best pink ensembles.
But they aren’t the only ones celebrating the success of the movie locally, with several businesses joining in on the fun too.
The collaborative social media effort saw a Barbie doll visiting different establishments in the town, starting at the cinema.
The Lonsdale posted a range of pictures of a Barbie and Ken doll with tickets and popcorn, commenting: “Barbie and Ken are so popular that they have sold out all three of today’s opening shows of ‘Barbie’.”
Next up, the Our Place bistro posted a video of Barbie rolling up in a pink convertible car to enjoy a fine meal and drink before posing with the workers.
And Gunning Dental joined in on the fun, revealing that their all-new, all-pink uniforms would be here to stay in celebration of the movie.
