Back-to-school events announced

FREE school uniforms, stationery and even free haircuts will all be available at a series of back-to-school events in August.

The items are open to anyone who needs a helping hand preparing for the new school year.

Families attending can also enjoy a free lunch and speak to local organisations offering advice and support.

The events are being held in Stranraer, Castle Douglas, Kelloholm, Dumfries and Annan throughout August, making support accessible to communities across the region.

Meanwhile, donations are being sought of school uniforms, sports kit, school bags or stationery, in good condition. They can be left at any Dumfries and Galloway Council Customer Service Centre until August 14.
