Assault probe

POLICE are appealing for information following a disturbance and serious assault in Castle Douglas in which a man was hurt.

Officers were called to a property on Wallace Court, around 11.30pm last Thursday, January, 2.

A 38-year-old man was then taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to what were described as serious injuries.

Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information, who has not already spoken to police, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3418 of 2 January, 2025.
