Art centrepiece damaged

OUTRAGE has been expressed after an arts installation was attacked by vandals.

A wicker statue of a horse and a police phone box in Kirkcudbright were both vandalised on Monday night.

Police are appealing for the community to help identify those responsible for incident at the town’s harbour, which saw the arts installations targeted.

Inspector Gavin McHallum said “it seems incredible and very sad that anyone would willfully damage these pieces of art.  The community will be rightly outraged by this act and I would ask that anyone who has any information about who carried out this act of vandalism to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting the reference 1567 of 23rd October 2018.”
