A DUMFRIES student has had her dreams come true after she was selected to become a cast member at Disneyland Paris.

Amy Houston has joined the French theme park cast with ‘friend’ Princess Ariel from Disney classic flick The Little Mermaid.

The 21-year-old is a graduate from Razzamataz Dumfries and attended the theatre school for over 14 years. She started with a love for singing and through hard work and taking advantage of every opportunity became the triple-threat performer that the entertainment industry demands.

Amy told the Dumfries Courier: “Having the opportunity to work my childhood dream job is very surreal.

“It’s so rewarding and everything I dreamed it would be and more. I love being a part of the Disney magic.”

She added: “Razzamataz has been a part of my life since I was five years old and I feel it has helped shape me and helped me to pursue my career in performing arts.”

Razzamataz principal Pam Dixon said: “Each year, we are producing more and more talented performers within our network.

“We employ hugely committed and inspirational teachers to help shape the students and regularly offer special guest masterclasses with professionals to give students access and understanding to what it takes to make it in the industry.”
