All welcome at open day

RH Youth Organisation are hosting an open day in Lochmaben on Sunday for young people and their families. The group already runs a branch in the burgh but are keen to sign up more youngsters and adult volunteers. And this weekend’s event will be a chance to meet the RHYO ambassadors, and the chief executive of the outdoor and adventure sections, as well as finding out about what’s on offer in Lochmaben. RH currently run a weekly Scavengers session for age 4-7 years; and Pathfinders and Troopers for ages 8-14. They will also be fundraising for activity and games equipment for the branch and will have refreshments on sale and a stall.

In addition, there will be the chance to have a go at backwoods cooking around a fire, axe and saw work and soft archery. A RHYO spokesperson said: “A day for everyone to come along to see what we get up to and of course join in the fun!” It’s on in the church hall from 10 am to 1 pm.
