AN insight into the practical side and inspiration behind work produced within the Moffat area arts and crafts community will be on offer this spring.
The Moffat Creative Art Trail opens the weekend of Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4, shining a spotlight on a group of creatives from the town and surrounding area.
A wide array of art will be on show such as fish models, metal sculptures and mixed media to name but a few.
Artists involved in the project are Androulla Jeffries, Carol Bowes, Helen Gardner, Jan Macbeth, John Fairgrieve, John McPhail, Mary Palmer, Russell Anderson and Sandie Cosens.
Doors will be open in studios and other work spaces to let the public see firsthand water colour, oil and acrylic paintings, fused glass, digital art, fibre art, pottery and metal sculpture.
Visitors will be able to identify each workspace by the blue balloons flying outside during the opening hours of 10 am to 4 pm each day. Maps outlining the trail will be available from all venues along with many outlets in the town.
Carol Bowes Harding has helped organise the event and she said: “There is a wealth of skills and talent in the Moffat area and we hope the trail concept will be appreciated and enjoyed by local people and visitors to the town
“There are brochures in most businesses within the town that gives you a little map and details of where everybody is. There will also be blue balloons outside their properties.
“It is to show off what talent we have, and we hope other people in the area would like to join us next year.”
Thanks are expressed to all of the businesses who have shown support in advertising the event.
