A lost Claus!

IT was beginning to look a lot like Christmas for Tracey Wells and her family as they started to get into the festive spirit.

However, after putting up their decorations and a 6ft inflatable Father Christmas outside her Brooms Road house, it quickly turned into a nightmare.

Tracey and her two young daughters were devastated to find out that someone had stolen their Santa overnight on Saturday.

And to make matters even worse for Tracey, the Santa was tied to her property and when the thieves cut through the wire they caused damage to her satellite television signal.

A furious Tracey told the Dumfries Courier: “I just feel bad for my girls. Kobi, my four-year-old, is telling everyone that someone stole Santa, it’s heartbreaking.

“It has certainly put a dampener on the run up to Christmas. I’ve had to buy security cameras for my house now. It’s the lowest of the low and I hope whoever did this is caught.

“I’m feeling really angry about it because I always put on a display in my front garden. I do it for the kids and people driving past.”

Tracey contacted Police Scotland to report the incident and they are looking into the case.

It has been a double blow for Tracey after her Halloween decorations were also stolen.

She said: “It’s got to the stage where I don’t want to carry on decorating my property if it’s going to be damaged or items stolen.”

Police Scotland was contacted for comment.
