Dumfries to host ice showdown

AN international ice hockey competition for under 16s will be held in Dumfries in December.

Ice Hockey UK will host the event and Great Britain players will be joined by those from Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain for the four-team tournament.
The player will take to the ice between Wednesday December 28 and Friday December 30.
IHUK general secretary Andy French said: “It is important for this age-group to get international experience.
“There are some exciting players in the GB set-up at the moment and it will be great to see them in competitive action.”
The tournament will be held at the Dumfries Ice Bowl, which has previously hosted three IIHF World Championship tournaments.
