Tot hurt in A711 crash

A WOMAN and toddler were taken to hospital after a road crash near Kirkgunzeon this morning.

They were travelling in a red Mazda 3 car which was in collision with a white BMW on the A711 near the junction to Corra Farm at about 9.10 am.
The BMW was driven by a 21-year-old Dumfries man, while the Mazda driver was a 47-year-old woman from Castle Douglas. She, and a two-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car, were taken to Dumfries Royal Infirmary with what are described as seat belt injuries and bruising.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the smash and PC Ian Nish said: “We believe there were other cars at the scene when this crash happened and I would ask that the drivers come forward with any information they might have regarding the crash. Callers can contact us on the 101 number.”
