Family tribute to crash victim from Dumfries

A DUMFRIES man has been confirmed as one of two people to have died in a recent road accident in Midlothian.

Howard Wilson, who was 41, lost his life when his silver Vauxhall Zafira was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the A6094 between Leadburn and Howgate.

Mr Wilson’s family have this weekend issued a statement through Police Scotland.

They say: “It is with great sadness that we announce Howard’s death.

“Howard was a very much loved son, brother and adored daddy.

“Howard had great friends and he will be fondly remembered for his love of music, life and family time.

“We would like to say thank you to all friends and family who have contacted us offering their kind wishes.”

The driver of the other car, a 68-year-old woman from Peebles, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing with enquiries into the collision which happened on Sunday October 3.

A spokesman said:  “We are particularly keen to speak to those who stopped at the scene immediately after the collision if they have not already contacted police.”
