Winter run

ADAC Seniors held their three-day Winter Festival of Running at the weekend.

A total of 27 runners took part in the festival — some doing one or two runs but only seven runners doing all three races in very tough, windy conditions.
Friday evening saw a 4.2 mile road race in Lockerbie, while Saturday saw a five-mile road run up to the very steep Langholm monument.
On Sunday morning competitors finished off with a tough trail run around Brownmoore forest 4.7 miles.
Seven competitors finished all three events.
Finishing first for the men with a total time for the three races was Mark Whitelaw with a time of 89.31 mins. Andy Render was second with a time of 91.56 mins and Graham McLellan was third with a time of 97.15 mins.
Alan Cameron finished in a time of 128.41 and Alan Creighton of 131.12.
The only two ladies to finish all three events were Linda Cameron and Nicola Kennedy with a total time of 148.26 so they claimed first prize together.
A big thank you goes to Andy Render for organising the events over the weekend.
Two other ADAC members were also competing at the weekend in the Cross Border Challenge from Gretna to Carlisle.
Johnny Minto finishing in 48.18 mins and George Fraser finished in a very respectable 52.55 mins.
The next club run takes place at Beattock on Saturday February 13, with a 10.30 am start at Crooked Road.
